Rachel! It's been fun to get caught up on you guys! I was shocked reading your blog that Gracie had been diagnosed with diabetes. You guys are a strong family and can lean on each other! You have the faith along with a big support group that everything will work out for your family. I can't believe it's been over a year since Dustin found out. Time flies! Keep your chins up!

Rachel, I am so glad you are all doing well. We pray that will continue for all of you! It is so true that the Lord know what we can handle, I often have to tell myself the trials are worth the Celestial rewards! Love you all!

Oh I am happy for your hubby and sad for your daughter! A pump is so the best thing ever! Way better than shots. I have now been diabetic (type 1) for 8 years and had a pump for 7 years! Diabetes sucks big time! It is definatly a constant battle for life! :( I am sorry! My prayers are with you all!

Wow Dustin- Scary stuff. Thanks for giving me your blog site, it had been a while since I had checked in on you and your fam. I hope you are feeling much better and I hope Gracie is doing well with her diabetes (so much education). I used to work in surgery with Dr. Ott before I moved to VA and he is a very good surgeon. Well, take care and congrats on the new house.

Those are really cute, Rachel! I might have to try them some time. I use a similar system with magnets on the fridge and for some reason the kids love playing with the magnets and destroying them.

Imagine our shock when Gehrig came to us yesterday and said he had completed all his chores (on a Sunday, without ever being asked)

Good job Honey!

I am sorry to hear about the craziness you have been through. I can say that I understand to some degree. 4 1/2 years ago when our youngest was 4 weeks old we found out that my husband Ryan had testicular cancer. It was one of those things that knocks the breath out of you and all you can think is that you just want your family to be o.k. You don't want to have to think about what life would be like without your spouse, but you are basically forced to contemplate the possibility and its STINKS. But like you said, all we can do is have faith in the Dr.'s and Heavenly Father and trust him. Its hard, not knowing if it will come back. THat is the hardest part. Fortunately for us, Ryan had surgery, the cancer hadn't spread and they felt like they got it early enough that after radiation treatment he'd be fine. And now he goes to the cancer Dr. once a year for checkups but all is well. Thanks for sharing your experience, especially the wonderful talk by Elder Simmons and also for your own testimony of having faith. Good luck. You'll be in our prayers. Your friend, Jenni
